Are there any businesses in Maghull that could provide some urgent charity support to remove some remaining ground Ivy at newly renamed NHS ‘Rowlands Dell’ (adjacent to the Hare and Hounds Pub)? Even a little help would make a big difference.

The brilliant NHS Mersey Care Horticultural Team have broken up most of the ground Ivy with a compact flailing tractor, but we need to remove more in the places that the tractor could not reach. If we can remove the Ivy, our volunteers can then remove the 30 years of litter and debris that is hidden beneath the surface, but we are hoping to act quickly before the spring regrowth tenaciously tries to lock the rubbish in again.

We have been making fantastic progress on the first stage to safely restoring nature in the NHS Dell by removing the damaging Ivy and decades of rubbish, before the next stage of reintroducing the woodland nature to make it accessible and safe for nature, humans and wildlife.

If you know anybody who can help, we would be enormously grateful if you could contact the Friends of Maghull & District (FoMD) by email at admin@fomd.co.uk.

Many thanks for your kind support,

FoMD
