Not for the first time, the winning talented students and staff of Maghull High School Art Department have excelled in boosting Maghull’s community atmosphere.

Sixteen schools in Maghull and Lydiate were invited to create a Christmas Art display that would boost the Christmas atmosphere for the school and the wider community as part of a competition organised by the Friends of Maghull & District (FOMD), with two Everyman family panto tickets generously donated by the Everyman Theatre and a further two kindly paid for by Maghull Town Council.

St. George’s Primary School were close runners-up, but although it might seem like a cliché, we think all the schools were winners for helping to create a wonderful festive atmosphere for the whole community, for which we are enormously grateful.

Mrs Hannah Eborall (Head of Art at Maghull High School) and her staff and students have been amazing local community pioneers for providing uplifting public works of art which have evoked and celebrated considerable pride in our local talented children. Their work has included: a floral art litter bin outside the Halifax (3), stunning bottle top mosaics on Stafford Moreton Parade (2), and more recently the floral artwork as part of the refurbished lambanana entitled ‘CK’ (community kindness) recently unveiled at Woodend (1). The school randomly selected Nevaeh and her family from a pool of talented worthy students.

With immense gratitude,

FOMD
