On behalf of our community the Friends of Maghull & District (FOMD) are enormously grateful to Paul and Harry Richards (Richards Tree Surgeons) for their incredible support of FOMD’s NHS partnership project for the green restoration of the newly named Rowlands Dell.

They kindly provided six tons of woodchip, recycled from the sad loss of a Maple and two Willow trees elsewhere in Maghull. The woodchip was spread over five hours by our volunteers (20-25.5.24) to provide an attractive tree hydrating mulch and biomass humus following the removal of 30 years polluting debris being raked out from every inch of this beautiful woodland haven. It will also be essential to help to the newly planted program of trees and shrubs to establish themselves during the planting season later in the year, from our recent experience of planting 16,000 trees in Maghull (2021-24).

In addition, they have also removed tons and tons of debris and provided one ton of grade 1 topsoil for our pictured donated welcoming rockery, for free.

Unsurprisingly and not before time they have received prestigious and deserved civic accolades (1) this year, for their countless acts of community kindness over many years, as a highly professional local family business,

Huge thanks for helping to make such a positive difference to our community, yet again.

Best Wishes,

FOMD.
