The cheese boards and bottle of wine were donated by Caroline (landlady) and her team at the stunningly beautiful Scotch Piper Inn who proudly run one of the oldest (1320) and atmospheric pubs in the north-west of England. They have been recognised in the good beer book 2021/23, whilst also providing regular live music, alongside banqueting events and beer garden set in beautiful countryside bordering the historic St Catherine’s Abbey. Amazingly it’s on our doorstep!

Update: Day 10 of 15 (22.8.23) £766.84! Huge thanks to the residents on Larchwood Ave and some fabulous online donations for their kind raffle purchases today. This area was the third (2021) of many over the years to be supported to ‘make Maghull a better place to live’, with the £30,000 crowd funded transformation of a green space known as the Woodend Community Woodland Project which included perimeter wildlife friendly hedging, the installation of accessible paths, huge new border planting, children’s nature corner, picnic area and many other green improvements (please see website ‘Projects’ tab).
With many thanks to the Scotch Piper Pub,
Friends of Maghull & District (FOMD).
