The Friends of Maghull and District (FOMD) John, Christine, and we were delighted to be joined by three of Graeme’s colleagues from the Liverpool HM Revenue and Customs, last Friday (6.10.23). Amazingly it was a rain free morning in which they remarkably and gratefully relocated 80 of our previously planted small trees to accommodate an extension to St George’s primary school’s playground equipment and even had time for a litter pick! We are now exploring the activation of a grant offer for 13 large standard trees to be planted this planting season.

Next Up:

The Friends of Maghull & District (FOMD) will be delighted to welcome any volunteers to our next weekly one-hour (no commitment) tidy up of Maghull, which will be at our new and biggest environmental project yet, entitled the NHS Wellness Dell. We will meet for one hour at 10 o’clock next Saturday (14.10.23) in the wooded area across the road from the Hare & Hounds Pub at 53, Liverpool Rd North, Maghull.

The whole area has been strimmed, for our topography assessment, exposing loads of litter and overgrown ivy, so to protect the environment and wildlife we want to remove it whilst it remains exposed. Consequently, please bring garden gloves, litter picker and secateurs and check our website’s events page for any changes or further information at https://www.fomd.co.uk/events/

Many thanks,

FOMD
