The fifth edition of Maghull’s quarterly community magazine – Your MAGhull, is being delivered free to 9000 homes and available below online and with previous editions on the links below.
Your evolving community magazine is striving to keep the community connected highlighting: many positive stories celebrating Maghull, why we should feel proud of the town and how you can help to make a difference.
We believe that without communication a community cannot be community. Please give your support as many of our residents do not have the magic of the Internet, leading to large groups of our community being excluded. We want to connect schools, charities, churches, businesses, councils and much more, so we can help each other going forward to make Maghull an even better place to live.
It also represents a wonderful advertising opportunity whilst also supporting the running costs for our grateful community. Contact information can be found within the magazine below.

Sad News for Our Maghull Community Radio Station
In January 2024, after nearly 10 years of unique broadcasting of Internet radio to our community, Ian Porter (the hard-working Maghull Radio Station Manager) with a heavy heart, following consultation with the owners Maghull Town Council (MTC) and his radio station colleagues, decided to close the radio station.
Dave Hughes and university graduates started the radio station with a Portas grant that should have lasted only one year but have triumphed to maintain this local asset for nearly 10 years, with so many achievements to celebrate throughout that time. Including connecting older isolated residents, training over 100 young and not so young people in radio production, many with additional needs.
However, with the dwindling resources of investment and volunteers, the listenership has also declined which may be symptomatic of contemporary media trends. Nevertheless, the radio station always felt that it had an amazing potential that was never fully realised, never more so than after the closure of the Champion newspaper in August 2022 which had a weekly free circulation to 160,000 homes in Sefton. Begging the question how can a community be a community without communication?
Today’s news is very sad, but it is also an opportunity to celebrate a remarkable 10 years and pay a huge tribute to Ian and his team, for so many years of huge voluntary service for the benefit of our community.
With immense community gratitude.
