Following the generous February 2019 decision to donate trees to our project by Mersey Forest and plant them in November 2019 (National Tree Week), we arranged a further meeting between Jo Sayer (Mersey Forest Community Development Manager) and Alex Spencer (Maghull Town Council Business Development & Contracts Manager) on the 27.6.19.

At the meeting Maghull Town Council identified that have created an assessment report of a variety of trees within their parks that will need to be removed due to health and safety factors. In response Mersey Forest have agreed to consider replacing all the trees for free and assess the viability of providing an increasing amount of trees following an assessment of all the parks in Maghull, through a variety of projects that they have responsibility for.

In addition, they are willing to utilise their well-established educational resources further by involving all the local primary schools. It was very exciting to see the potential for this partnership which will be developed further throughout the year, once further assessment and information is established. merseyforest.org.uk | @merseyforest | facebook.com/merseyforest
