If you have one hour to spare, the Friends of Maghull & District CIC (FOMD) would welcome your kind support on Friday 6.1.23 at 10:30 hours by Bumbles Nursery at our Woodend (Bobby’s Wood) Community Woodland Project to finish off some annual winter gardening tasks at the 50x4m border which involves the following:

  • raking leaves
  • weeding

All you will need are strong boots, garden gloves and if you can bring any of the following: a rake and/or a large garden fork.

The Woodend community Woodland Project started in 2020 (see https://www.fomd.co.uk/woodend-community-woodland-project/ or www.spacehive.com/woodend inc short video) and should look after itself, as we passed the maintenance onto the MTC maintenance team but occasionally they need some help for the finer stuff before the bulbs start appearing again.

Many thanks to Paul and John (pictured 15.12.22) for (1) spreading the kindly donated wood chippings from Paul Richards (*tree surgeon), onto the right-hand border of our SMW Eco Project. The chippings make an attractive weed suppressant and mulch, and all done before the bulbs make an appearance. In addition, (2) edging and gully clearing, and (3) planting of a wedding layer cake tree.

Best Wishes,

FOMD CIC
