Following last week’s announcement (entitled ‘Tree Cheers’, for Maghull (*1)) in which we highlighted that after one year of negotiations between Mersey Forest and Maghull Town Council we will most likely receive thousands of trees, now a new opportunity has arisen requiring help.

Last week we received 4000 trees (enough for one Hectare) in a rare opportunity from Mersey Forest, in addition to the above negotiations. They have been temporarily planted in a relative’s garden until they can be planted permanently in November 2020.

How can you help? This rare opportunity has been extended so we can receive thousands more tree whips if we can find people in Maghull who have a 5×3 m area of land in which the bunches of trees can be planted and then kept alive with minimum growth, in a simple process called ‘healing’ (*2). They would require minimum attention other than some watering during hot weather and would be removed and planted in Maghull, in November.

This opportunity will only last one more week, so we really need your urgent support. Anyone interested? In the meantime, please consider supporting our new project at www.spacehive.com/woodend
