The Friends of Maghull and District (FOMD) were astounded yesterday (21.7.23), to receive a £300 donation towards our neighbouring Woodend Community Woodland Project. The amazing children, over a period of two weeks undertook a sponsored litter pick and unbelievably raised £600, of which £300 went to the maintenance of their defibrillator and £300 was donated to our project. We have spent some of the money already on neighbouring rockery planting and hope to spend the remainder on wildflowers as part of a unique and developing children’s nature corner to support our non-profit desperately needed running costs.

FOMD would like to express our immense gratitude to everyone who supported the children’s sponsorship and to the amazing children and staff of ‘Bumbles’ 1 who have been an integral and enchanting part of our neighbouring project from day one. A special thank you to Rachel Swain (manager) and Ian Makinson (owner) both pictured on the front row, for their continued kind friendly support and engagement.

In addition, a huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers who have helped to restore the rockery after it had become overwhelmed with weeds in June/July.
