Come On You Blues!
Maghull Football Club (founded in 1921) is starting one of its most exciting seasons ever – at home against Darwin FC with a 3 PM kick-off (27.7.24) at the Old Hall ground on Hall Lane (their home since 1954), when following promotion with success on and off the pitch they have been accepted back into the North West Counties Division One League, where they had originally been founder members in 1988, following an absence of 26 years.
During the 26-year absence Maghull FC has experienced lots of success on the pitch but until they received planning permission in October 2023 to enhance the ground facilities, they have been unable to adhere to the criteria to achieve promotion on numerous occasions.
Listen to Joe Burns (Maghull FC Manager) interview on BBC Radio Merseyside where he pays tribute to the incredible hard work undertaken by everyone associated with the club to achieve this thrilling long-awaited promotion, their style of football and the amazing buzz around the club starting with a home league game on Saturday against Darwin FC and an early FA Vase First Round Qualifying home draw on 24.8.24, against the historic team of Bury FC (currently in the above NW Counties Premier league).
