Maghull Business Network Project
In recent years, the high street and businesses have struggled locally and nationally, initially through changes in shopping trends, compounded by Brexit, the pandemic and now the cost-of-living crisis.
We visited Altrincham in 2020, which had transformed itself from the worst high street to a national beacon, by developing and curating a destination retail model and working alongside grassroots expert stakeholders at every stage of their transformation process.
Consequently, we have invited our local expert businesses to be at the beginning of our process to emulate their success for the benefit of the whole community.
Summary:
Despite the clear ‘national challenges, and local challenges’ presented by Sefton Council’s requirement to focus on their assets and needs in Bootle, Crosby and Southport, there are ‘opportunities’ arising from our increasing 25-40% population alongside support from Sefton Council’s brilliant business department and other resources.
