The Friends of Maghull and District (FOMD) are immensely grateful, yet again to Paul and sons Chris and Harry Richards (Paul Richards Tree Surgeons) for several more tonnes of wood chip, alongside countless tons they have given us over the last couple of years for community projects.
The wood chippings are used as an attractive mulch to spread around some of the 15,000 young trees we have planted around Maghull. The mulch is brilliant at maintaining the hydration of the tree and maximising growth by suppressing weeds that can suffocate the young trees. Last Saturday (18.2.23) at short notice Paul, Chris and Harry very kindly donated the wood chippings for the final new hedging at Pimbley Field, and as if by magic Ken kindly offered to help remove the final weeds and tidy up the trees before spreading the wood chippings over two hours.
Many thanks once again,
FOMD
