The Friends of Maghull & District (FOMD) would like to praise the parents of Hudson Primary School in Maghull. We befriended Hudson after planting 3000 trees at the school last year, but we have discovered that they have now astonishingly raised £18,000, including a recent £5000 cheque from Persimmon Homes to pay for speech therapy for their children in their specialist Cherry Tree Autism Unit.

Persimmon Homes presented an amazing £5,000 cheque, from their community fund, to gratefully boost the remarkable fundraising undertaken by the parents of Hudson Primary School, to provide dedicated Speech and Language therapists for their non-verbal children in the school’s Cherry Tree Autism Centre.

Niki Craddock (Head Teacher) said ‘The fundraising parents have done incredibly well and have so far raised £18,000 without any signs of stopping in their quest to provide life changing treatment for the children who have difficulties with speaking and communicating. Our parents have dedicated their time to running the London Marathon, organising a Race Night, competing in a Boxing Match and have been fortunate to get match funding off a number of organisations. One of those kind and generous organisations is Persimmon Homes, who are currently developing the Summerhill Park site, who donated £5,000 to the fundraising efforts, which was presented at our July school fair to our immensely grateful team’.
