On Friday morning (8.9.23) we received the unbelievably sad news that 19-year-old Matthew had died during the night.
Matthew was such a young tower of strength for good, with a rich potential ahead of him.
He had an astounding precocious expert business knowledge from an early age (13yrs) which remarkably he articulated brilliantly on numerous occasions on national TV.
He rarely complained about issues that blighted our community but simply acted to resolve them on a weekly basis both independently and often with Ken or Thomas. Alongside this work he also volunteered both cheerfully and enthusiastically on countless occasions over the years to help our Friends of Maghull & District Group with a huge array of environmental work from litter picking, planting trees, weeding, transporting items, and much more.
He changed political allegiances, simply to have more opportunities to improve our town for the common good and became Maghull’s youngest Town Councillor.
Mathew is huge loss for everyone in our community. His parents have so much to be proud of, but I can’t imagine the inconsolable loss they must feel.
With deep and heavy heartfelt condolences,
Frank
PS I hope, one day, we can create a legacy to remember this remarkable young man.
