On Sunday (7.7.24), a few Friends of Maghull & District (FOMD) volunteers braved the torrential rain, to spread a mountain of donated woodchip (courtesy of Paul Richards – local community orientated tree surgeon). Unbelievably, the work was completed in one hour and will temporarily suppress the weeds and improve the bio hydrating humus following their previous removal alongside mountains of polluting debris and litter. A huge thank you to Peter, Ros, and Frank for all their hard work for this hugely beneficial community environmental project.

Overall, our one-hour sessions over the last 36 consecutive weeks have resulted in collecting 230 bin bags of litter, a huge and shameful array of polluting debris and tons of tree and wall damaging Ivy, with multiple trips to the recycling centre.

We have received some wonderful feedback and are clearly seeing the difference every time we are there.

A huge thank you once again for your generous support of our group, you really are amazing and making such a massive difference to our community at so many levels.

Looking forward to seeing you.
