Local resident Lynne has kindly donated an Oak tree, ferns and small items to the Friends of Maghull and District (FOMD) October/March charity appeal for woodland themed plants to populate a huge 50x4m community border, situated at Bobby’s Wood/Woodend at the junction of Liverpool Road South and Northway.
Lynne never stops, not only is she the long-term chair of Maghull’s Neighbourhood Watch (https://maghullhomewatch.co.uk/) but she is involved in countless charity works for the church and others. If you or someone you know is tidying up the garden for winter and would like to donate a woodland themed plant please get in touch with the details below.
We have used the trees to replace some of the 23 (1.5%) that did not grow following the planting of 1501 trees here by the community in December 2020
(1) Last Chance for Cash Donations. Our crowdfunding over the last year, to raise funds to fill the huge rear border (50x4m) with woodland themed plants, is finishing at the end of October, so if you would like to help please follow this link. Every small donation will really help. www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/woodend
New Appeal for Woodland Themed Plant Donations.
We would also like to announce that following last year’s unprecedented and generous response from the community which resulted in over 200 plants being donated from the local community’s own gardens (2), we are again appealing to the community for a repetition of their kind woodland themed plant donations between October and March. Eg ferns, heathers, rhododendrons, hydrangeas, azaleas etc would be fantastic.
