Enormous Thanks for the Amazing Green Revamp Support on the 31.7.24 Involving and Undertaken by:
- Paul Richards (Tree Surgeon) who yet again very kindly donated enough woodchip to replenish the wildflower path which replaced the mulch that we spread from the path onto the outer border.
- Rachel who donated a beautiful rhododendron.
- The pictured FOMD volunteers, who removed and spread the mulch from the path to the outer border, spread the new woodchip on the log path, removed the weed and trimmed vegetation to the recycling centre, moved five Hostas into a more prominent positions, and planted and watered the donated rhododendron.
This was the Friends of Maghull & District’s (FOMD) first of many community environmental transformations which started at Parkbourn in Maghull in 2018. We recently highlighted it on Google maps receiving over 2000 hits over two months. The area was transformed from an antisocial grot spot to a much visited oasis, but following some overdue completed weeding and hedge and shrub trimming and the replenishing of the path, it now looks really beautiful and well worth a visit.
Pictured: Many thanks to Jill, Dave, Diane, Rob and Colin & Frank (not pictured). Jill was taking a well-deserved rest in the wheelbarrow after not only gardening on this project but also at home, her mother’s and St Andrews Church, then walk 2 miles home!
Many Thanks,
FOMD
