With some joined up thinking and support, our path will create a journey, accessible by all, in all seasons, to a variety of beautiful community led environmental projects.

The philanthropic Ashworth Hospital gardening team led by Mr Paul Pruden, with the support of Mersey Care NHS Trust, has promised to create a beautiful 2m wide Cotswold Grit path often seen in stately gardens (see Picture) and parks, for free.

With your support we would like to match Paul’s generosity by crowdfunding £6500 to pay for the materials and machinery hire to start enhancing the green space at the junction of Liverpool Road South and Northway, known as Woodend/Bobby’s Wood.

Our Vision is to reinvigorate an historic woodland entrance to Maghull, with a welcoming, accessible, iconic and engaging wildlife friendly space, focusing on enhancing the environment, history, community, legacy and economy.

Our Ambition between April and October 2020, is to target our crowdfunding to create firstly an accessible pathway (see Map) to join together various destinations that will include the following:

• community led designed and managed planted borders

• under-planting the current trees with hundreds of free Mersey Forest donated tree whips and bulbs to future proof and enhance.

• A 6m Saxon banqueting table and benches near Bumbles Nursery to act as a fun picnic table and community hub.

• A wisteria arched tunnel

• Signage to welcome and inform regarding the rich history.

• The potential loan of a 15 foot Saxon warrior sculpture.
