Wildflower Preparation in Maghull: Can you help?
7 November @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am
| FreeThe Friends of Maghull & District next one hour session (in which everyone is welcome without any commitment), will be meeting at our Stafford Moreton Way Project (near Rainbow the rhinoceros), to prepare the ground for more wildflower seed planting, at 09:30 hours on Thursday 7.11.24.
Task: We will be weeding and raking the area to reduce competitive weeds and vegetation to reduce the fertile soil as wildflowers, thrive on low fertile soil. If time permits, we will replace a tree that sadly did not survive.
Equipment: You will need garden gloves and sturdy boots, garden and hand fork, and a light rake.
Thank you to: Ros, Jill, Mark (pictured) and Colin and Frank, who last week used 50 self-seeded transplanted trees from Woodend and planted them in the available space is at our previously planted woodland at Old Hall Park. We were amazed how the 1015 (previously planted in 2021) trees have grown beyond 5 foot in many cases.
For our massive tree planting program in Maghull later in the year please register your interest by emailing admin@fomd.co.uk with your contact details and we will be delighted to get back to you to offer you some dates for our community tree planting program.
