The Friends of Maghull and District (FOMD) removed over 20 self seeded trees from our huge woodland border this week and will be planting them in our 2021 planted Old Hall Park woodland to replace any trees that have not survived. The one-hour session (in which everyone is welcome without any commitment), will be meeting at Old Hall Park adjacent to the Baptist Church, at 09:30 hours Wednesday (30.10.24).

For our massive tree planting program in Maghull later in the year please register your interest by emailing admin@fomd.co.uk with your contact details and we will be delighted to get back to you to offer you some dates for our community tree planting program.

Equipment:  You will need garden gloves and sturdy boots, spade, garden fork. The grass may be wet and long so wellies might be useful perhaps.

More information at www.fomd.co.uk including: (1) Events tab for everything about the meeting and (2) Projects tab for the project background.

Many Thanks to our volunteers in our last Woodend session on the 23.10.24, including Ross, Jill (pictured), and Frank, who undertook the following:

  • Resurrected the new Willow arch entrance ‘comb over’ that had partially blown apart during the last storm.
  • Weeded the rockery around the Community Kindness (CK) art installation.
  • Removed Ivy from a suffocated tree.
  • Removed over 20 self-seeded trees for replanting elsewhere.
  • Continued to establish the new Wisteria Boulevard of trees.

All the Best,

FOMD

Together Making Maghull a better place to live.
