Together Making Maghull a Better Place To Live: Can You Spare an Occasional One Hour?
14 August @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am
| FreeThe Friends of Maghull & District’s (FOMD) next one hour for Maghull, will be focusing on a small amount of weeding and pruning on our Woodend Community Woodland Project, meeting at Woodend/Bobby’s Wood next to Bumbles Nursery on Wednesday (14.8.24) at 0930 hours, for one hour only and without any commitment. This maturing community Woodland themed border is the largest and most beautiful in Maghull, and even if you can’t help it is well worth a visit.
Equipment: If you can make it, you will need garden gloves, sturdy boots, large and small garden fork, loppers, secateurs, hedge cutters.

Enormous Thanks to Jill, Diane, Rob, Ross (pictured) and Frank (not pictured), who undertook some amazing green maintenance work on FOMD’s Stafford Moreton Way Eco-Education Project on Maghull’s highest footfall by:
- Remarkably removing to the recycling centre three agricultural bags of weeds from the dormant flowerbeds behind the wildflowers on both sides of the road. The huge variety of wildflowers are really active but the grass will need to be controlled further at the end of the season with a refresh of wildflowers with extra yellow rattle seeds which are helpfully parasitic to grass.
- Two large agricultural bags of bottle tops have also been removed from Rainbow the recycling rhinoceros and transported to Neston High School, for recycling by the children to make national award-winning artefacts.
Many Thanks,
FOMD
