From Maghull’s Hanging Teapots and Recycling Rhinoceros to the Community Kindness (CK) Lambanana: Can You Help for One Hour?
29 August @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
| FreeThe Friends of Maghull & District’s (FOMD) next one hour for Maghull, will be focusing on a small amount of weeding and pruning on our Woodend Community Woodland Project, meeting at Woodend/Bobby’s Wood next to Bumbles Nursery on Thursday (29.8.24) at 13.00 hours, for one hour only and without any commitment. This maturing community Woodland themed border is the largest and most beautiful in Maghull, and alive with pollinators. Even if you can’t help it is well worth a visit.
This year’s one-hour midweek maintenance sessions started at Woodend (the home of CK), followed by Parkbourn (including 21 hanging teapots/bird boxes), Stafford Moreton Way (Rainbow recycling rhinoceros) and now returning to Woodend.
Equipment: If you can make it, you will need garden gloves, sturdy boots, large and small garden fork, loppers, secateurs, hedge cutters.
More information at www.fomd.co.uk including: (1) Events tab for everything about the meeting and (2) Projects tab for the project background.
Enormous Thanks to Jill, Joan, Rob, Diane, Joanne and Colin who recommenced the maintenance last week (21.8.24) by:
- Weeding, pruning and hedge cutting the beautiful 250×4 m border
- Removing a remarkable two agricultural bags to the recycling centre courtesy of Rob and Diane.
- Thank you to Colin for the lovely bonus of super tasty free fruit and veg from his allotment, for all the volunteers.
Best Wishes,
