After all the hard work that our small group of volunteers do as part of the Friends of Maghull & District CIC (FOMD) it was really heart-warming to receive a thank you from Bumbles Children’s Nursery. Simply ‘Making Maghull a Better Place to Live’ is normally the best reward but a small appreciative thank you from our children is really precious.
The children and staff surprisingly presented us with a beautiful home-made thank you card, a coronation pen, chocolate and flags. The children have been engaging with most parts of our ongoing three-year crowd funded green improvements to the neighbouring Woodend Community Woodland Project (Bobby’s Wood, at the junction of Liverpool Road South and Northway).
Most recently, they have been enchanted and thrilled to use our newly installed (28.5.23) Coronation picnic area, which comprises of some donated block paving, recycled plastic picnic table, recycled wooden storytelling thrones, with the addition of two crowns. The children have been dressing up in royal themed fancy dress during the coronation and will be using the table for years to come.
FOMD would like to send huge thanks to Nuttall landscapes for the discounted materials and installation costs, June Burns for donating her leftover block paving, Sefton, Sefton CVS and Maghull Town Council for their incredible support towards the costs.
We desperately need your support to help FOMD continue to make Maghull a Better Place to Live by volunteering (Events section) or donating (Donate button) or for more information (Project section: Woodend project) visit: www.fomd.co.uk
We hope you all had a fantastic bank holiday weekend?
All the very best,
FOMD
