In 2021/22 Maghull’s St Georges and Hudson Primary Schools between them planted 2851 trees in the form of woodland and hedging as part of 16,000 planted throughout Maghull, organised and supported by the Friends of Maghull & District (FOMD) and Mersey Forest.
On recent inspection the trees are looking incredibly healthy (three/four times higher!) following regular maintenance work by FOMD. Consequently, both schools following the bird nesting season are cutting the hedges for the first time to help them bulk out, which is a fantastic result by everyone.
Massive Planting Programme in Maghull Needs Your Support.
FOMD is only a small group, and our success has been achieved by bringing the community together. Consequently, we need everyone to register their interest for a massive tree planting program later in the year by sending your contact details to admin@fomd.co.uk so we can get in touch with drop in planting dates between December and March. Please help our community to continue making a difference to our environment and do our bit for climate change.
Huge thanks,
FOMD
