Over the last pandemic challenging year the Friends of Maghull and District were honoured to be chosen alongside two other fantastic local charities to be partnered with our local Co-op for an annual period between October 2020 to October 2021.

We were obviously delighted when we thought we were going to receive £305.39 but after all the final calculations we have recently learnt that we have been donated an amazing £1,051.52, bringing our year-long crowdfunding to a total of £3025.81.

The funds have already started making a difference to the second stage of the Woodend Community Woodland Project (junction of Liverpool Road South and Northway) to populate the huge new 50×4 border with woodland themed plants. Over the last week we have received plant donations, planted 100 new plants (1) and 2500 daffodils and bluebell bulbs (2), including 100 Tulip bulbs donated by a kind local resident, which has been reported by the Champion Newspaper https://champnews.com/story.asp?id=GN4_ART_1895395
